still waiting...

Here I am, laughing at the fact that I live in base housing…something I swore that I’d NEVER do again. How ironic that the dishwasher floods the kitchen and the dryer stops working on the same day? Seriously though, I laugh at it all because it’s so darn comical. It’s funny how my first phone call to them was never logged but my 2nd phone call got some notice. Apparently when they ask for your husbands duty number and you tell them he's the acting base commander you get some notice. I’m getting new appliances this afternoon (sometime after 1:30 pm). It looks as if the maintenance elves are taking the appliances back to the elf workshop and then will hand those "fixed" appliances off to the next person/family/house that needs them. Watch one of us get these Junkers in our newly refurbished house in November, LOL!!! I can see it now :-D

Worth the wait..if it was your own appliances, you'd be paying for repairs or replacements!

I usually make a habit of not telling people what my husband position is but dang it if it didn't bug me that they didn't have any record that I had called earlier. About me getting NEW appliances...Apparently they replace these things all of the time because they aren't worth repairing (so I was told by the 2 guys replacing said appliances).

If these were my appliances...I'd be doing the home repair scene...I can be pretty handy with tools :-) The dryer- I think that the heating element was fried and the dishwasher- the pump went out and well parts of the inside were rusted. Did you know that it's cheaper to replace the entire dishwasher then to replace just the baskets? It sure is! About $150 less to buy the dishasher versus just the baskets.

I hope that all the work is done and hey there are times that you have to pull rank just to get things done. We do what we have too. xx
